Privacy Policy

Genetic data. When you upload a raw DNA file from a service like 23andMe or AncestryDNA, we store that file and the variant (SNP) data in it, along with the analysis we derive from it.

Daily health inputs. Your check-ins (sleep quality, energy, symptoms), cycle information you choose to log, and the onboarding questionnaire you complete.

Account & usage data. Your email and name, and basic technical data needed to operate the app.

Your data lives in a Supabase PostgreSQL database with encryption at rest. Row-Level Security policies ensure that only you can read your own rows — your genetic and health data is not visible to other users. Uploaded genetic files are kept in access-controlled storage.

We use your data to generate personalized, experimental guidance about your body — nothing more. This involves automated analysis, including sending the relevant inputs to OpenAI's models to produce your readings.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for their own purposes, and we never share it with insurers or employers. Your data is not used to diagnose, treat, or make any medical decision.

We rely on a small number of processors, strictly to run the service:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• OpenAI — the AI models that turn your inputs into guidance. Your genetic and health inputs are processed to generate your readings.
• Vercel — application hosting.

HerGenes is experimental computational biology, not clinical genetic testing and not a medical diagnosis. Genetic data is a special category of personal data under the GDPR, the CCPA, and several U.S. state genetic-privacy laws, and we process it only with your explicit consent, which you give before uploading and can withdraw by deleting your account.

You can, at any time:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Correct your account details.
• Export your data (portability).
• Delete everything. “Delete My Account” in Account settings permanently removes your profile, genetic files and analysis, check-ins, and all derived data, and withdraws your consent. This cannot be undone.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is removed from our database and file storage.

HerGenes is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will change the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
